The story of a card's creation

How this became that
I fell in love with this paper collection. Using a prepackaged paper collection is the easiest way to get started the coordinating is already done for you.

Next, a sheet paper collection to go with the quilling strips. Here again using a  line or collection gets you on your way.  Coordination is already done for you.

A road map is next.  Using a light, medium and dark of the collection gives depth and interest to the project.

Adding my personal touches to the layout.  This is where your style comes through. No one wants a project that anyone can copy and make a billion of them that all look identical.

details don't forget the details So many times the details are what give the piece that wow factor

From the strips and the sheet papers comes the quilled leaf.  Let the papers lead you. I have found that a small area for your design is less intimidating.

put it all together and yup up on Etsy, Face Book and Pinterest to share with the world.

ArTrails

This will be my 5th year in ArTrails Studio Tour.  I will be at the Stillwater Estates in Centralia WA  again this year.  Check out the side link for more info.

MS Punch All Over the Page

This card was so much fun!  Quick stained glass project using black and a punch all over the page punch from Martha Stewart and wrapping the quilled elements with black added the final touch.

Quilling Camp

These are class projects for day one and day two of my quilling camp at Scrap Happy.  Check out the details of my facebook page under events for more info.

fairy belle papers

I wanted more of the papers to be visible so I cut the bottom lace and raised it with pop dots; then tucked the quilling under.  I used the "Whites" quilling strips, soft grey holofoil edged strips and some parchment strips as well.Check out my facebook page under card gallery in my photos section for more cards using fairy belle papers.

Color Matching

Most useful tool:

http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/productdetail.jsp?pageName=search&flag=true&PRODID=prd33829

I use this color wheel when talking with clients. Just how many colors of blue are there? This wheel makes matching and coordinating colors a snap. It has an audition window, combinations for 3 and 4 color combos, and makes it easy to pick out accents, lights, darks, and mediums for your project...any project.
